Life long learning, it should be available for everyone. Companies have reservations about providing this. It is important to keep investing in employees. What is life long learning? In this session we focus on how the WaterCampus promotes life long learning in the water sector. We take a look at how other hubs in Europe organize the promotion of this in their area. How do other water companies provide life long learning for their employees? Life long learning benefits everyone in the end.

Mr. Pieter Hoekstra

Bio
Mr. Pieter Hoekstra is project manager at The Centre of Innovative Craftsmanship Water, CIV Water. He speaks of the importance of life long learning and what CIV Water does for vocational level education, MBO in Dutch. CIV Water thinks it’s important to let knowledge flow, from education to company’s and vice versa. Pieter also focusses on the WaterCampus in Leeuwarden. The WaterCampus motivates a life-long learning on other educational levels.

Mr. Robbert de Geus

Bio
Mr. Robbert de Geus is a teacher VET and project leader at MBO Life Sciences in Leeuwarden. He’ll take you through the world of education. What is his experience of life long learning in this unique dual position? Robbert is a link between vocational education and business. For years he has headed the course about drinking water technology at Vitens, a Dutch drinking water company. In this process he was an indispensable lever as a teacher and he motivated participants and experts to invest in human capital. He then returned this knowledge to his students.

Bio
Mr. Edwin Zammit is Deputy Director Programme Management (Technical College) at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). Edwin talks about human capital in Malta, and how they promote life long learning at MCAST.
